Help us shape the future of AI innovation and climate action
Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of our time, and artificial intelligence (AI) holds immense potential to drive positive change.
We are working at the intersection of AI and the climate, exploring how these digital capabilities can be leveraged to help us tackle our greatest climate challenges.
From agriculture to critical infrastructure to emergency management and beyond, we are partnering across industry, government and academia to create a sustainable and thriving future in a changing climate.

Share your feedback on the AI for Climate R&D Roadmap
The AI for Climate R&D Roadmap is our latest instalment in exploring where and how Australia can strategically leverage AI to accelerate climate action.
It highlights current and emerging opportunities, showcasing real-world and cross-sector applications of AI. Importantly, the report also considers the risks and ethical considerations of using AI in climate applications, and the steps needed to ensure AI is deployed safely, responsibly, and effectively.
We want to hear your views on how the Australian R&D ecosystem, including CSIRO, can work together to use AI in adapting to a changing climate and support mitigation efforts.
Join the conversation and share your feedback as part of CSIRO’s consultation period.

2024 AI for Climate Symposium
CSIRO hosted the AI for Climate Symposium on 16-17 October 2024, bringing together over 120 AI and climate experts across industry, government and academia.
We explored the role AI could play in accelerating emissions reduction efforts or helping us adapt to a changing climate, safely and responsibly.
