\"\"Dr Batten is a research scientist with extensive experience in the environmental catalyst, manufacturing and recycling industries. Following pioneering research developing technologies for direct harvesting of carbon dioxide and water from the atmosphere he has returned to\u00a0working on leading edge recycling technologies. To this end, Dr Batten is focussed on assisting the development of Advanced Recycling industries as a means to drive-down the impact of plastic pollution in the Indo-Pacific region. Over the last decade he has also contributed to the non-for profit sector in the areas of early childhood education and martial arts training.
