Professor Daniel Murphy is microbiologist\/biochemist and the Murdoch University Lead Scientist for the CSIRO-Murdoch University-Industry Bioplastics Innovation Hub which is located at Murdoch University. He is particularly interested in the design and use of the next generation of bioplastics as an alternative to traditional petroleum-based plastics, and his research focuses on the synthesis and characterization of biodegradable polymers.
