Adrian is a Principal Research Scientist and Team Leader at CSIRO where he leads the Materials Upcycling and Sustainability Exploration labs. He develops advanced nanostructured materials and processes, applying them to solve challenges in national priority areas, in particular environmentally friendly processes for sustainable upcycling of problematic plastic waste streams. Current industrial research projects he leads are on the circular economy for upcycling waste expanded polystyrene (EPS) into high-valued chemicals; sustainable extraction of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) from waste cables; and catalytic conversion of waste cooking oils into industrial chemicals.
