Rowan Williams, BASF/Australasian Bioplastics Association
Rowan joined BASF in 2005 as Business Director for their plastics portfolio and in 2012 moved into Market Development for biopolymers across Asia Pacific, managing advocacy, sustainability and market development for biopolymers across the Region in source segregation of food waste, developing new formats for compostable packaging such as ready to eat meal trays all with end of life of composting in mind and commercialising the use of soil biodegradable mulch film for horticulture and broadacre cropping.
Rowan has more gained more than 40 years of practical management experience in Asia Pacific in the agricultural, packaging, plastics, mining and general manufacturing industries, in roles spanning Marketing, Sales and Operations with local and multinational corporations and has extensive Board experience in various roles.
Rowan is the current President of the Australasian Bioplastics Association, the peak industry body for the Bioplastics industry across ANZ and with global affiliations in Europe, the US and Asia and has performed this voluntary role since 2010.
