Mineral carbonation is a promising carbon dioxide removal (CDR) technology that mitigates industrial emissions by converting CO<sub>2<\/sub> into stable carbonates. However, non-alkaline wastes such as gypsum (mainly CaSO4\u22192H2O) and saline water (CaCl2 and\/or MgCl2) require external alkaline chemicals to elevate the solution pH and neutralize the acid generated during the carbonation reaction. Such high chemical consumption and operational costs is hindering the scalable and sustainable deployment of CO<sub>2<\/sub> mineralisation. Integrating bipolar membrane electrodialysis (BMED) into CO<sub>2<\/sub> mineralisation can address these challenges by recycling the required alkaline using renewable electricity. This study proposes an amine-promoted carbonation-electrodialysis process, in which amines not only improve mineral carbonation as an alkaline reagent but also enable efficient electrochemical alkaline regeneration by regulating the anion transport\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tuesday 27 October, 11:30am \u2013 1:10pm;
