In the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, several countries are projected to maintain a reliance on fossil fuels well beyond 2050, making CCS an essential component of their national decarbonisation strategies. However, several countries have limited proven capacity for geological CO\u2082 sequestration, constraining their ability to implement large-scale CCS domestically. In contrast, Australia possesses substantial volumes of proven storage capacity, positioning it as a potential hub within a regional CCS value chain. The Northern Territory has been identified as a strategic location where liquid CO\u2082 could be transported by ship and subsequently sequestered in nearby geological formations.
