Implementing Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for plastic pollution control in the region
This session will explore the role of international collaborations and emerging technologies in combating global plastic waste. You will be joining other experts who will share successful strategies from around the world, providing insights into groundbreaking innovations that are having a substantial impact.
The presentation will discuss a strategic approach to mitigate plastic waste in the region. The topic will spearhead the development of robust national EPR frameworks, tailored to regional nuances yet aligned with global sustainability goals. Attendees will leave equipped with actionable knowledge to navigate and influence the complex landscape of plastic pollution control.
The presentation explores a strategic method to reduce plastic waste in Southeast Asia. It will lead the creation of strong national EPR frameworks, customised to the region’s specific needs while also adhering to international sustainability standards. Participants will acquire practical knowledge to steer and shape the intricate field of plastic pollution control. This presentation aims to discuss, develop, and harmonise EPR initiatives that are both locally relevant and globally responsible. It will provide a comprehensive overview of EPR’s role in environmental governance, its impact on plastic waste management, and the benefits of a circular economy. Attendees will emerge with a clear understanding of how to implement EPR practices effectively, fostering a collaborative approach to safeguarding our oceans and landscapes from plastic pollution.
