CSIRO’s energy research mission is for Australia to lead the world in the development of technologies and knowledge creation that drive low-cost electrification and decarbonisation of our major industries and exports in a competitive low-carbon global economy.
As part of this work, we are proud to co-convene the IEAGHGT-18 Conference in Perth in October 2026 with fellow IEAGHG Australian consortium members: CO2CRC, GeoScience Australia and Australian Energy Producers. The GHGT Conference Series is the premier international conference on greenhouse gas reduction technologies, focusing on carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS).
With more than 40 CSIRO scientists showcasing over 25 years of collaborative CCUS R&D experience, we will also host a display at the Conference to connect with the hundreds of attendees as well as site tours to two of our Western Australian research sites. The Conference’s From Molecules to Monitoring tour will visit our emerging Carbon Capture Material Acceleration Centre and the well-established In Situ Laboratory with its focus on carbon storage and monitoring.
It has been eight years since the GHGT Conference was held in Australia and we are delighted to be a part of the collaborative effort to bring it back.
Our scientists are excited to exchange new research learnings and engage with industry and policymakers on innovative ideas and commercial technologies that advance carbon management solutions critical to global emissions reduction.
