Louise Hardman is a Zoologist, Chemistry teacher, environmentalist and Plasticologist. After witnessing a small green turtle die a painful death from eating plastics in seagrass, she has dedicated herself to finding solutions for communities to prevent plastics entering the oceans.  After founding Plastic Collective in 2016, Louise and her team have delivered 8 recycling programs in remote and Indigenous communities throughout Australasia to profitably recover and recycle marine debris, ghost gear and kerbside plastics. Her ‘5R’ philosophy starts with Rethink – changing the way we think about ‘waste’ and all materials.  PC designs and installs mobile containerised recycling equipment and delivers capacity-building educational training programs for communities can profitably turn rubbish into resources.
