Claire Marshall
Claire Marshall is an award-winning futurist, whose work focuses on how the stories we tell influence how we imagine and enact our futures. She is the creator of Museum of Futures – a participatory exhibition that brings to life our visions for different futures, which exhibited nationally and internationally.
Museum of Futures has given Claire the privilege of hearing thousands of people’s ideas for the future, which feed into her research on how we imagine futures under climate change. Claire loves to write and present ‘future histories’ or visions of our present from the future, and regularly does keynotes, lectures and workshops on the power of stories to change… well, everything.
Focus:
My area of expertise is in narrative foresight which understand that the stories we think through shape how we imagine possible futures, and influences the actions that we take. I am currently completing a PhD where am looking at how we can counter dominant narratives that act against our efforts to take climate action. I have written ‘future histories ’like this one for organisations such as Sydney Opera House, WWF Australia and TEDx Sydney.
