Grace Bird

Grace is the Head of Atmosphere, Main Sequence’s pre-seed fund and company building platform. In this role, she partners with deep-tech founders to lay the foundations for scalable ventures from the very beginning of their journey. 

Grace has a decade of experience in early-stage venture capital, innovation policy, and marketing and communications. 

Before joining Main Sequence, Grace led the early-stage venture team at Breakthrough Victoria, spearheading a number of deep tech investments. Prior to Breakthrough Victoria, Grace held roles as Ministerial adviser Adviser for Innovation in the Victorian Government and was a part of establishing Australia Post’s corporate venture capital team. 

Grace is passionate about helping Australia’s most innovative deep-tech founders transform advanced science into scalable businesses to drive the nation’s transition toward a resilient knowledge economy. 

She holds a double degree in Business (Management) and Business (Marketing) from Monash University. Outside of work, Grace enjoys exploring Melbourne’s food markets, cooking for friends, and running at Princes Park.
