Student Travel Bursaries

Specific funding is available to provide students (undergraduate, honours, masters and PhD) the opportunity to travel and attend the ISMUMS2026 conference in Perth Australia, from the Monday 29 June 2026 to Friday 03 July 2026.


Criteria:

  • Currently enrolled at a higher education institution studying mafic-ultramafic minerals systems.
  • submitted an abstract to the conference

A portion of the bursaries will be dedicated to students from low income countries. 

Value and use of the grant:

The anticipated value of each grant will be a maximum value of AUD$3,500 and is intended to cover flights to Perth, Australia, and as well as registration to the ISMUMS conference. 

Application process:

You will need to provide:

  • Your current student enrolment, including the university, topic of research (if applicable), the expected end date and supervisors names.
  • Estimated costs for return airfares from your place of study to Perth, 
  • A maximum 200-word statement of anticipated benefits of attending this event.
  • The title of your abstract (which should be submitted through the abstract portal)

Successful Applicants: 

The students who are awarded a student bursary must agree to use the funding for travel to present their research at the ISMUMS2026 conference. The bursary will be a reimbursement after the conference and after presentation of receipts and a written report of 200 words and be available for a photo at the event.

Failure to attend or present at the conference will result in the cancellation of the bursary.
