Grace Bird

Grace is the Head of Atmosphere, Main Sequence’s pre-seed fund and company-building platform, where she works closely with deep-tech founders to help turn breakthrough science into globally scalable companies from day one.

She brings a decade of experience spanning early-stage venture capital, innovation policy, and marketing and communications. Before joining Main Sequence, Grace led the early-stage venture team at Breakthrough Victoria, backing emerging deep-tech companies across a range of sectors. Prior to that, she advised the Victorian Government on innovation policy and was involved in establishing Australia Post’s first corporate venture capital team.

Grace is passionate about building Australia’s next generation of industries and supporting founders tackling globally significant challenges through science and technology.
