Delivered by CSIRO, in partnership with Thailand’s Food Innopolis and Research University Network, the Thailand-Australia Venture Exchange Program (VEP) connects Thai and Australian agrifood startups and SMEs with research, industry and market opportunities across both countries.

Over 12 weeks, participants unlock opportunities to collaborate on research, attend premium events, build ventures, accelerate business growth, share local market insights, and access coaching and mentoring. Round 1 focuses on Sustainable Agrifood Systems Development.

The Thailand-Australia Venture Exchange Program is sponsored by the Australian Government ‘s Southeast Asia and Australia Government Partnerships program, and managed by CSIRO, Australia‘s national science agency, in partnership with the Government of Thailand through the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) and the Research University Network (RUN) Thailand.

CSIRO’s Industry-Research Collaboration programs connect businesses, researchers and students to accelerate innovation and deliver impact. Through a suite of initiatives including CSIRO Kick-Start, Innovate to Grow, Regional University Industry Collaboration (RUIC), Generation STEM Links, WA Food Industry Education Collaboration and the Industry PhD (iPhD) Program, we help businesses access research expertise, funding opportunities, student talent and collaborative networks.

Whether supporting early-stage innovation, building research partnerships or developing future talent, these programs reduce barriers to collaboration and enable industry and research organisations to solve challenges, create opportunities and strengthen Australia’s innovation ecosystem.

The Industry PhD Program supports a three-way partnership aiming to train the next generation of researchers to build our workforce in critical areas and facilitate long-term mutually beneficial interaction between industry and research organisations.

The Program provides students with the opportunity to undertake a 4-year PhD research project identified jointly by an industry partner, a university and CSIRO. As well as completing their project, the student undertakes a 6-month internship with the industry partner and receives additional training to help them develop their applied research career.
